Event management shouldn't feel like this

Every venue knows the pain. The tools you rely on weren't built for how you actually work.

📂

Scattered information

Event details live in spreadsheets, contracts in email threads, schedules in shared docs, and staff availability in someone's head. Nothing connects.

🔌

Disconnected tools

You pay for five different platforms that don't talk to each other. Every handoff between systems creates risk, duplicated data, and wasted time.

Manual busywork

Contracts are copy-pasted from templates. Invoices are rebuilt from scratch. Shift plans are checked against labour law by hand. The admin work never ends.

One platform. Every workflow.

Overture replaces the patchwork with a single system designed around how event teams and venues actually operate.

📅

Visual Calendar & Scheduling

See your entire programme at a glance. Drag events across venues and dates. Multi-day productions, space bookings, and resource conflicts — handled automatically.

📄

Contracts & Digital Signing

Build templates with merge tags that auto-fill event data. Send for signing with one click. Get a live notification the moment a client signs, so nothing slips through.

👥

Staff & Crew Management

Drag-and-drop crew onto events, track availability, send notifications, and collect timesheets — all from the same place you manage the show.

🗓️

Shift Planner · Labour-law compliant

Working Environment Act rules are encoded directly into the planner. Evening loads, rest periods, weekend distribution and averaged working hours are validated in real time as you build the rota.

§ 10-5 ready
💰

Invoicing & Pricing

Generate invoices directly from event data with venue rates, resource fees, and marketing packages. No re-keying. No spreadsheet formulas.

💡

Production & Instructions

Lighting, sound, front-of-house, marketing — give every department their own instruction space per event. Changes push to all production dates instantly.

📎

PDF Agreements & Preview

Upload artist contracts, riders, and technical specifications. Preview them inline on the event — no downloading, no hunting through email.

📡

Calendar Feeds

Subscribe to personal, venue, or department calendars from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. Always up to date, automatically.

🔔

Notification Centre

A single inbox for contract signings, shift confirmations, and production updates — so the whole team can keep track of what's happened and what still needs attention.

🔗

Integrations That Just Work

Connect your ticketing system and sync with existing workflows. An open API lets you pull in event data from any planning tool you already use.

Shift Planner · Deep feature

Labour law built in. Because spreadsheets don't know the rules.

Every contract in Overture carries its own rules — evening premium, maximum consecutive evening shifts, rest periods, and averaged working hours under Working Environment Act § 10-5. The planner flags violations the moment you draft a week, not after HR finds them.

  • Three presets for averaged working hours — individual agreement (8 weeks / 48 h / 10 h), collective agreement (52 weeks / 54 h / 12.5 h) and Labour Inspection Authority consent (26 weeks / 48 h / 13 h).
  • Rolling N-week window that warns when the average breaches the contract's target.
  • Minute-precise evening detection — a shift that ends at 17:00 no longer counts as an evening shift.
  • Per-employee contract overrides, clearly marked in the "Per employee" tab when someone has their own terms.

What's new in Overture

We ship constantly. Here's what landed in the last few releases.

NEW

Two-factor authentication

TOTP via Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password — required for admin accounts. 30-day "trust this device" so you don't enter the code daily.

NEW

System push notifications

Bell, chat mentions, contract signings and shift requests arrive as native iOS / Android / desktop notifications, even when the app is closed.

NEW

Tap-to-deep-link

Tap a push and land on the exact event tab — task assigned → Tasks tab, chat mention → Production tab. No more hunting after the app opens.

NEW

Installable PWA + stay-signed-in

Add to home screen on iOS / Android and stay signed in across reboots and app evictions. A real second-factor in your pocket.

NEW

Averaged working hours

Full § 10-5 support in the rota — three legal bases, rolling window, and live alerts as you build the week.

NEW

Per-section VAT overrides

Pick a VAT profile, then override venue rental, staff, resources, or marketing individually when a single event needs different rates.

NEW

Role-aware staffing

When you pick a staff member, the role suggestions narrow to the roles they can actually hold — primary plus any extras from their profile.

NEW

Cross-device notification sync

Mark a notification read on your phone and the desktop catches up on the next poll — server-side merge prevents the lost-update races that plagued the old shared-blob writes.

Results, not features

Here's what changes when your venue runs on Overture.

Weeks of admin work disappear

Contracts, invoices, and staff notifications that used to take hours happen in clicks. Merge tags pull event data automatically — no copy-pasting.

Your whole team sees the same picture

Producers, technicians, front-of-house, and management all work from one live system. No more "which spreadsheet is the latest?" conversations.

Your rota is compliant by default

Labour-law rules are encoded directly in the shift planner. Violations are flagged while you plan — not three months later when HR finds them.

Nothing falls through the cracks

Every event has a full audit trail — contracts, staff assignments, instructions, history. When someone asks "did we confirm that?", the answer is one click away.

Replace five tools with one

Stop paying for a calendar app, a contract tool, a staff scheduler, an invoicing platform, and a project tracker. Overture covers all of it — without the integration headaches.

Your server. Your data. Your rules.

Overture runs on your own hosting — not on someone else's cloud. GDPR-ready by construction, not by promise.

🛡

Two-factor authentication

TOTP-based 2FA (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password). Required for admin accounts and never disable-able by the admin themselves — only another admin can reset on a lost device.

📍

Self-hosted, your infrastructure

Deploys to any cPanel-style hosting in Norway or the EU. Your event data, contracts, staff records, and timesheets stay on hardware you control.

📜

GDPR by design

No third-party data processors. No analytics pings. No external CDN for app code. Personal data never leaves your domain unless you explicitly export it.

🔑

Granular roles & permissions

Per-role access on every tab and action. Producers see their events only when you want; staff see their own shifts; admins see everything. Define what each role can read or edit.

🔄

Encrypted in transit

HTTPS-only via Let's Encrypt SSL on your domain. Push notifications use VAPID-signed payloads. Trust tokens are random 256-bit values, server-validated with constant-time compare.

📤

Full data export, anytime

Every collection (events, staff, contracts, timesheets) is a JSON blob in your MySQL database. You can dump and migrate at any moment — no lock-in, no proprietary format.

Common questions

How long does it take to get started?
Most venues are up and running within a day. Overture runs in your browser — there's nothing to install, though you can add it to your home screen as a full app. We help you import existing event data and configure your venues, staff roles, contract templates, and rota rules during onboarding.
Can Overture integrate with our existing ticketing system?
Yes. Overture connects with common ticketing platforms and can import event data from your existing planning tools. If you use a custom setup, our API makes it straightforward to build a connection — no middleware needed.
Does the shift planner really understand labour law?
Yes. Overture encodes the rules from the Working Environment Act § 10-5 directly into contracts — with three presets for averaged working hours (individual agreement, collective agreement, and consent from the Labour Inspection Authority), configurable max daily and weekly hours, rest periods, and evening-shift rules. Every rota is validated in real time against the specific contract that applies to each employee.
Can I install Overture as an app?
Yes. Overture is a progressive web app — add it to your home screen on iOS, Android, macOS or Windows and it launches like a native app, with its own icon and full-screen interface. An internet connection is required, since events, schedules, and agreements are always read live from your server.
Is our data safe? Where is it stored?
Your data is stored on your own server infrastructure with encrypted connections. You own your data completely. Overture doesn't use third-party cloud services to store your event information — it runs wherever you host it.
How does two-factor authentication work?
Each user enables 2FA from their profile by scanning a QR code (or pasting a secret) into Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or any RFC 6238 app. After that, every sign-in requires a 6-digit code on top of the password. Admin accounts are required to have 2FA on and can only be reset by another admin — protecting against a compromised admin keeping themselves locked in. The "Trust this device for 30 days" option lets staff skip the code on devices they control while still protecting against new-device attacks.
Do staff get notified on their phones?
Yes. When a user installs Overture as a PWA (add-to-home-screen) they can opt in to system push notifications. Task assignments, chat mentions, contract signings, and shift requests arrive as native notifications. Tapping a notification opens Overture directly on the relevant event tab — not the default landing page.
What does it cost?
Pricing is per-venue, scaled to the size of your operation and the deployment model you prefer. We do a 30-minute walkthrough first to understand your workflow, then quote based on what you actually need. No long contracts, no per-user-per-month surprises.
